After his graduation and post-graduation (MBBS and MD) from BJ Medical College & Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, Dr. Pujari chose Neurology as his super-speciality, studying and training at Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai for the DM (Neurology) degree, which he received in January 2002. He simultaneously cleared the DNB (Neurology) examination of the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
In February 2003, Dr. Shripad Pujari moved to the United Kingdom, where he spent four-and-a-half years as Clinical & Research Neurologist at Kings College Hospital in London and at Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, and University of Sheffield, UK. During this period Dr. Pujari obtained the title of MRCP (London).
Apart from his extensive experience in all aspects of clinical neurology, Dr. Pujari has considerable experience in research as well. He has been involved in numerous clinical trials, including drug trials for multiple sclerosis, in which he has screened and evaluated patients for the trials, supervised the study-drug administration, performed assessments and managed adverse events and relapses.
During his masters and doctorate studies Dr. Pujari served for about a year each, respectively, as Lecturer in Medicine at BJ Medical College and as Lecturer in Neurology at Grant Medical College. He has taught resident doctors, medical students, nursing staff and general practitioners, on topics covering common medical and neurological diseases; detailed case presentations and preparing seminars and reviews on literature; management of acute emergencies; bedside clinical methods and history taking; ward procedures; patient care in wards; and, diagnosis and management of medical and neurological diseases seen at the primary health care centre.
